David Pieris Motor Company (Private) Limited (DPMC), Sri Lanka\u2019s largest automotive company, has been recognised with the Merit Award of the \u2018Ian Dias Abeysinghe Memorial JASTECA CSR \/ Sustainability Award\u2019 at this year\u2019s awards ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) is a renowned organisation that promotes Japanese management philosophies, technical collaboration and sustainable business excellence in Sri Lanka. The JASTECA CSR \/ Sustainability Awards honour organisations that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, guided by the Japanese Kaizen<\/em> philosophy of continuous improvement for economic, social and environmental progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This recognition reflects DPMC\u2019s commitment to embedding sustainability into every aspect of its operations\u2014spanning environmental stewardship, renewable energy generation, community engagement and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DPMC\u2019s award-winning submission showcased a series of impactful initiatives that highlight its holistic approach to responsible business. A key focus was the company\u2019s renewable energy generation efforts, with most large-roof facilities equipped with solar panels to produce clean energy, thereby reducing dependency on non-renewable sources. Another significant initiative, the eDrive Project, promotes green mobility through in-house electric vehicle conversions fully carried out by DPMC\u2019s own teams. The project also includes eDrive for Differently Abled<\/em>, reflecting the company\u2019s inclusive approach to innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond technological progress, DPMC continues to invest in employee welfare and community development, with wide-ranging programmes designed to uplift livelihoods and enhance social well-being.
