Amplifier ’21 is Sri Lanka’s first ever island wide leadership development program conducted by AIESEC; world’s largest global youth-run organization which aims to assist young people in developing leadership potential. This 3-month program commenced on the 19th of September 2021 and intends to develop leadership and public speaking skills of 250+ post A/L students that were recruited as delegates for Amplifier ‘21 from all 25 districts of Sri Lanka. Moreover, several general events are open for 650+ young people.

In addition to the skills development programs conducted at Amplifier ‘21, a Youth Forum on leadership will also take place on the 27th & 28th of November 2021. This forum is open to any youth of Sri Lanka including undergraduates and after A/L students. The maximum participation is planned to be limited to 1000 participants and the registrations will start soon. AIESEC Sri Lanka is aiming to create brand-new experiences for all the youth of Sri Lanka and make sure that leadership is inclusive for all the 25 districts of Sri Lanka through this program.

Amplifier ‘21 launched on the 19th of September 2021 with the participation of Mr. Bhanuka Hathurusinghe, Country President of AIESEC Sri Lanka and Mr. Arfan Nazar, Country President of AIESEC in Bangladesh. A motivational session on confidence building and positive thinking was then led by Mr. Hasitha Hewawasam, Co-Director of the Nirvana Club and Founder of the Sri Lankan Motivational Community.

Then followed a series of leadership skills development sessions every Sunday for two months on several topics including AIESEC leadership values, Personality Development & Personal Grooming and Fundamentals of Public Speaking. These session were conducted with the participation of past and active members from the Member Committee of AIESEC Sri Lanka and other prominent personalities of the country such as, Mr. Kumar de Silva; Personality Development and Corporate Etiquette trainer and Lead Trainer at Kumar de Silva Training, Former Audio and Visual Officer at the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and Mr. Shuaib Ali; a Certified Skills Development Coach, Communication Evangelist and Founder of Pufferfish. Furthermore, contestants from the Voice Sri Lanka also performed at every event to provide an entertaining break for the enthusiastic delegates of Amplifier ‘21.

In addition to that a unique session was held with Ms. Keshavi Puswewala, Senior Human Resource Business Partner, Corporate Functions and T&O Employer Brand Lead – Unilever Sri Lanka on the Importance of Leadership where the delegates of Amplifier ‘21 interviewed her with the question they had regarding the importance of leadership. As an upcoming event an interview with Ms. Kasthuri Chellarajah Wilson, Executive Director, Group Chief Executive Officer of Hemas Holdings PLC is scheduled to be held on 12th of November 2021 in collaboration with V Force youth movement of Sirasa TV.
